Notable Current American Conservatives
On this page, we will highlight notable Americans involved in the Tea Party and conservative movement. Click on their photo for more information.

Lloyd Marcus

Lloyd is the singer of the Tea Party Anthem and several other songs. Lloyd has a website where you can purchase his music and find out more information about him. Please consider supporting this hard working conservative American.

Lloyd sent us an email recently, and gave us the OK to publish it:

Forward-to-a-Friend

I traveled on the Tea Party Express tour bus as a singer/songwriter, entertainer and spokesperson; 16 states, 34 rallies in two weeks. I experienced vicious racial verbal attacks, not from the tea party protesters. The racial hate expressed against me all came from the left, people who support president Obama's radial socialist agenda.

Unfortunately, my deleted email box is littered with numerous messages expressing the following, “You are the dumbest self hating f****** n***** I have ever seen!” These racists are outraged by my opening lines I boldly proclaimed at each rally. “Hello my fellow patriots! I am NOT an African-American! I am Lloyd Marcus, AMERCIAN!” At every rally, my proclamation inspired great applause and cheers of joy and approval from the audiences. After each rally many came to me with tears in their eyes. They said, “I thank you from the bottom of my heart for what you said. I am Irish (or Italian, or Asian) American. And yet, I would never hyphenate. I feel hyphening divides us. While it is fine to honor one's origin, let's all be American first”.

The tea party audience's passionate response to my proclamation was a surprise to me. I did not know so many Americans disapproved of hyphenating pushed on us via political correctness.

I rejected hyphenating years ago. One day I woke up and heard I was no longer black, I was African American. Anyone rejecting the new term was called ignorant, insensitive and an Uncle Tom if you are black. Not intending to be provocative or controversial, I casually stated that I am not a hyphenated American, but simply an American at a tea party. The audience's cheers of approval was surprising and heartwarming.

As I said, I am a singer, songwriter, entertainer and columnist using my gifts to spread the message that conservatism is best for all Americans. Liberal's response to my YouTube videos, columns and performances on the Tea Party Express have been extremely racist, vicious and hate filled. In their incredible arrogance, they vilify me for loving my country and not viewing myself as a victim of white America. In the sick minds of liberals, as a black man in America, I must support president Obama regardless of his policies. I must resent white America. I must feel entitled to the earnings of other Americans. My belief that my success or failure is totally in the hands of myself and my God is an anathema to them.

As to the claim that the tea party protesters are racist, they are not. Quite the opposite. At every rally with thousands in attendance, I was overwhelmingly showered with affection and thanks for standing up for America. At one rally, a sign read, “Lloyd Marcus for President”. These protesters are not racist. They are decent hard working oridinary Americans who love their country and disapprove of the radial changes planned by the Obama administration. Race is not an issue with them. They have deep concerns for their country.

Disgustingly, Obama-ites use race to silence the protesters. They know it is an effective weapon to use against decent people. Ironically, the people the Obam-ites call racist are the same people who hate hyphenating. They want to be united as Americans.

The grand finale of the Tea Party Express Tour took place Saturday, September 12 in Washington DC at the U.S. Capitol. I performed my song, Twenty Ten. The crowd of over a million loved it. C-Span posted my performance on YouTube. Shamefully, C-Span had to delete the hate-filled racist comments posted by Obama supporters in response to my performance. Why do so-called tolerant and compassionate liberals think it is OK to freely use the “N” word when referring to blacks who escape the “liberal plantation”?

Despite Obama-ite's hideous charges of racism, this amazing tea party movement is driven by passion, concern and love of country by the American people. A Tea Party Express “whistle stop” in Mt. Vernon, Texas epitomized the mood of the movement.

We were late leaving our Dallas, Texas rally. We would arrive late at our rally in Memphis, Tennessee. The decision was made to cancel the road side “whistle stop” in Mt. Vernon, Texas. Besides, it was only suppose to be a brief stop for a few folks to tour the bus, take pictures and give us homemade treats. Then, we received the call, “You MUST stop. There are a lot of people here!” The State Police lead our Tea Party Express Tour bus into a crowd of 500 to 800 cheering excited people. They treated us like rock stars. Totally unprepared, the truck with our sound system was on it's way to Memphis. We did not have a sound system or a stage.

We made our way through the crowd to the bed of a pick up truck. National radio talk show host Mark Williams, blue star mom Deborah Johns, singer Diana Nagy, the Rivoli Revue (Ron and Kay) and myself climbed on board. Someone handed Mark a bull horn which he used to encourage the extremely enthusiastic crowd. We said the Pledge of Allegiance and Diana lead in the singing of “God Bless America”. Many in the crowd were sobbing. Then they showered us with thanks, hugs, bottled water, bags of shacks and homemade treats. I thought, “How many angry racist mobs bake and bring brownies and overwhelm a black guy with affection and hugs?”

Once back on the bus, our team struggled to hold back tears. We felt humbled, honored and blessed. Though extremely well received at each rally, this “whistle stop” drove home the passion, love of country, and importance of our mission to preserve and Take Back America!

The Tea Party protesters are hard working decent people who love their country and want us all united as Americans. I am highly offended that this evil administration seeks to divide us, not just by race, but also by class envy. As I said to many of the audiences along the Tea Party Express bus tour, “I love you. Stay strong. Do not allow their calling you a racist to shut you up! Stand up for America. God bless you. And God bless America!”

Rick Santelli

Some call it "The Rant of the Year" and others "The Rant Heard Round the Country". On February 19, 2009, Mr. Santelli, a CNBC reporter spurred the recent Tea Party movement with the following broadcast:

Hannah Giles and James O'Keefe

This is the dynamic duo that helped expose the fraud and corruption at the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now or ACORN in several cities. Using an investigative journalist method of the hidden camera, they went to several ACORN housing offices and pretended to be a prostitute and her pimp. They said they were unable to find housing since what they were doing was illegal. In one of the more egregious scenes, one of the ACORN workers showed them how to defraud the IRS by claiming Ms. Giles was a "Performance Artist".

The fact they mentioned bringing underage girls in from another country didn't change the ACORN representatives plans- they told Ms. Giles that if she was older, she could claim all of them as dependents, but since she was so young, she could only claim 2 or 3.

The saddest thing about this situation is that the prosecutor in Baltimore Maryland, where one of the investigations was filmed, said nothing about the fraud or potential misuse of tax dollars by ACORN- the office put out a news release stating recording audio in Maryland without the other party's consent is a felony. We have equated this with a bank robber being videotaped with the audio on and saying "Give me all your money!" and the bank being prosecuted for recording what he said without his consent while the robber was not prosecuted.

These two are an excellent example of what just one or two people can do. If it wasn't for the video, ACORN could just dismiss them as making the whole thing up. Click on Mr. O'Keefe's picture to go to his Big Government page and watch the videos from Baltimore and several other cities.

Glenn Beck

Glenn has a nationwide radio show usually from 9 AM to 12 Noon Eastern time, and is on Fox News daily at 5 PM. He has also written several books, such as An Inconvenient Book and Glenn Beck's Common Sense. Glenn also goes out on a comedy tour on occasion. Glenn has a website where you can sign up for daily emails and find out more information about him.

Glenn has been demonized by many and made fun of by others. There is no question where he stands on issues, and he is a conservative that believes in small government and holding our elected officials accountable regardless of their party affiliation. Glenn was among the first to report on Mr. O'Keefe and Ms. Giles above, long before any of the other networks did so. In March of 2009, Glenn undertook the 9-12 Project, a concept of 9 principles and 12 values he recognized as key to America:

The 9 Principles:

1. America is good.

2. I believe in God and He is the center of my life.

3. I must always try to be a more honest person than I was yesterday.

4. The family is sacred. My spouse and I are the ultimate authority, not the government.

5. If you break the law you pay the penalty. Justice is blind and no one is above it.

6. I have a right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, but there is no guarantee of equal results.

7. I work hard for what I have and I will share it with who I want to. Government cannot force me to be charitable.

8. It is not un-American for me to disagree with authority or to share my personal opinion.

9. The government works for me. I do not answer to them, they answer to me.

The 12 Values
* Honesty
* Reverence
* Hope
* Thrift
* Humility
* Charity
* Sincerity
* Moderation
* Hard Work
* Courage
* Personal Responsibility
* Gratitude

Rush Limbaugh

Rush has a nationwide radio show usually from 12 Noon to 3 PM Eastern time, and has been on the air nationwide since about 1988. He has also written two books, The Way Things Ought to Be (1992) and See, I Told You So (1993). Rush has a website where you can find out more information about him.

Rush talked about conservatism in an op-ed piece written in 2005 that was published  in the Wall Street Journal.:

I love being a conservative. We conservatives are proud of our philosophy. Unlike our liberal friends, who are constantly looking for new words to conceal their true beliefs and are in a perpetual state of reinvention, we conservatives are unapologetic about our ideals. We are confident in our principles and energetic about openly advancing them. We believe in individual liberty, limited government, capitalism, the rule of law, faith, a color-blind society and national security. We support school choice, enterprise zones, tax cuts, welfare reform, faith-based initiatives, political speech, homeowner rights and the war on terrorism. And at our core we embrace and celebrate the most magnificent governing document ever ratified by any nation--the U.S. Constitution. Along with the Declaration of Independence, which recognizes our God-given natural right to be free, it is the foundation on which our government is built and has enabled us to flourish as a people.

Sarah Palin

Mrs. Palin, the former Governor of Alaska and 2008 Republican Vice President nominee is a noted conservative and has drawn the ire of liberal Republicans and Democrats.

Mrs. Palin illustrated her conservative values while Governor of Alaska. The below is excerpted from the December 24, 2008 online version of The American Chronicle:

Item: Palin Proposes 7 Percent Cut in State Spending
As Alaska's coffers are filled mostly by oil revenues, the recent drop in prices has caused revenues to slow. In response, Governor Sarah Palin's $4.9 billion budget calls for a 7 percent cut in overall state spending, mostly in capital projects. Combined with a modest 2 percent increase in the operating budget for state agencies, the budget outline would result in a $388 million surplus in 2010 if projections hold.

"We of course are going to be prudent," Palin said. "We're going to live within our means. We don't want any Alaskans to assume that government is the answer to all of the challenges and issues and problems that any individual faces."

Item: Palin Rejects Proposed Pay Increase
The Alaska Legislature recently passed a law requiring that a State Officers Compensation Commission review top level salaries, and they recommended the governor's salary be increased from $125,000 per year to $150,000. Governor Palin said that she didn't ask for and wouldn't accept a raise were the Legislature to pass one. She would instead donate the $25,000 difference to charity or otherwise re-direct it to benefit others.

Imagine that – keeping spending to less than available revenues and refusing a pay raise. Politicians across the nation are scratching their heads, asking themselves: "You mean you can really do that?"

Common sense and humility – two things in very scarce supply in politics, and Sarah Palin has them in spades. Perhaps that´s why Sen. John McCain's selection of her as a running mate drove the political establishment, particularly the liberal side thereof, so crazy. By her very persona and existence on the scene, the comparison exposes them for the corrupt liars and out-of-control egomaniacs they are, obsessed with staying in power.

We also note that in 2007, she vetoed $237 million from the Alaska budget and focused her decisions on the Constitutionally-mandated services of education, public safety and health, and infrastructure. We like a focus on Constitutionally-mandated things.
